Swany’s g.cell mobile phone glove lets you talk to the hand, literally.

Those of you who live in cold climates know it’s a pain to take off your gloves every time you want to make a call.  Ski glove manufacturer Swany appears to have solved that problem with its new g.cell gloves, which hit the FCC yesterday.  At first glance the g.cell gloves look like any other pair of ski gloves.  But if you take a closer look at the back of the glove, as well as its fingers, you’ll see call and hang-up buttons, and a small earpiece and mic.  The g.cell’s cuff also hides a small vibrator, as well as a Bluetooth module and battery.  Simply charge up the g.cell gloves, pair to a Bluetooth phone, and you’re ready to talk to your hand.

The speaker in the g.cell is located in the glove’s thumb, while the mic is located slightly below.  To talk on the g.cell you hold the right glove up to your ear and speak like normal.  The diagram below shows the process of talking on the g.cell, and yes…it does look a bit absurd.  But, I can definitely see the g.cell coming in handy when on the slopes, or when I’m just too lazy to take off my gloves.
